How the prints are made, and what they cost.
Fine Art
Editions of twelve, from €700
Produced to Digigraphie® standards on textured cotton fine-art paper with archival pigment inks. Each print is signed and numbered and carries a certificate of authenticity.
The short side of the image area is 42 cm. The long side follows the proportion of the photograph, so a 3:2 frame prints at 42 × 63 cm, a square at 42 × 42, and a panorama can run to two metres. The size beneath each photograph is the size that image makes. Measurements exclude borders.
How the price moves
Every image is made in an edition of twelve, and the price rises as the edition is taken up:
| 1–4 | €700 |
| 5–8 | €1,000 |
| 9–12 | €1,400 |
The earliest buyer of any photograph pays the least for it. That is deliberate: the first person to want a picture is taking the greater risk on it, and should be rewarded rather than penalised.
Large formats carry a supplement on each tier — a 42 × 214 cm print is not the same object as a 42 × 63, in paper, in handling, or in shipping. The supplement is quoted before anything is made.
Alternative formats can be produced under Digigraphie standards where an approved paper size exists. Those prints are signed and certified, but are not part of a numbered edition.
Availability
Availability varies by image, and so does the price: ask which tier a photograph is currently in. Once an edition of twelve is complete no further prints of that image are made in that format — that is what the number on the print means. The edition size is fixed and will not be enlarged.
Standard prints
From €200
Selected formats on 250 g semi-gloss paper. Other papers and sizes on request. Standard prints are not signed, not numbered, and carry no certificate. They are good prints; they are not editions.
Ordering
Every photograph carries an Enquire link beneath it. It opens a message containing that print’s code, its exact size and the edition, and asks which tier the edition has reached. That is the whole ordering system — there is no cart, and nothing to fill in but your name and where it is going.
Payment by PayPal or bank transfer. Shipping is quoted separately and is not included in the prices above.
How the printing is done
- Each print uses the ICC profile for the paper it is made on.
- A digital proof can be supplied before printing, on request.
- Minor variations in dimension occur as a result of the printing process.
- Prints are produced in controlled batches for consistency, so ask about current production and delivery times.
